Axentia Group (publ) acquires Gaia Public Transport
Published 2025-02-17
Axentia has signed an agreement to acquire Gaia Public Transport (GPT) from Gaia System AB. With the acquisition, Axentia’s world-leading digital stop signs will be joined by solutions for passenger information on buses and trains, while at the same time taking a strategic approach to central real-time communication.
GPT is a cloud-based real-time system for public transport vehicles with constant connectivity and central logic based on digital twins. GPT was developed together with the Public Transport Authority Östgötatrafiken about 6 years ago and has been in operation on the buses in the county of Östergötland since summer 2020.
“This deal is a strategic further development and broadening of our offering to the Nordic public transport industry, where we can now offer passenger information both at stops and on vehicles,” says Dick Ollas, Managing Director of Axentia.

The companies, with a common base in Östergötland, have long had a successful collaboration on both customers and development – now they are taking the next step and joining forces.
“With GPT in the portfolio, we get access to an expanded competence as well as the industry’s most modern solution for real-time information to vehicles,” Dick continues.
“The combination of real-time information for both vehicles and stops in the same platform creates a unique and sought-after solution for the end customer, and it gives Axentia an opportunity to take greater responsibility and grow with the existing customers,” says Johan Lindén, CEO of Gaia. Johan will now take on the role of Sales Manager for GPT at Axentia.

Gaia will continue offering its consulting services as before, with ownership remaining unchanged. The company is now fully focused on developing its consulting offerings in the fields of Data & AI.
