From Norrtälje to Norrköping, Linköping, and now Gaia – meet our new system developer Rebecca Lindblom! She’s been with us for just over a month now, and of course, we took the opportunity to ask her a few questions to get to know her better.

Hi Rebecca! How does it feel after just over a month at Gaia?

It feels great! I’ve been warmly welcomed, and it started off well with a summer lunch at the office to meet everyone. It’s a nice and perfectly sized team working here! Also, it’s a very driven team that wants to deliver valuable solutions – I like that.

Nice to hear! You’re from Norrtälje – how did you end up in Linköping?

I actually moved to Norrköping to start studying Civil Engineering in Media Technology, but after two years, I switched to Computer Science in Linköping and moved there. Then, I did my thesis at a startup working with text analysis in Linköping and continued as a software developer there. So, I stayed!

Which is better, Norrköping or Linköping?

Oh, that’s tough! I get the best of both worlds now that I’ve started at Gaia, which has offices in both cities. Norrköping is so beautiful with the stream running through the city, and I still have friends there. But in Linköping, I prefer the city’s layout, and the beautiful Tinnerbäck Ravine is one of my favorite spots.

Rebecca står vid ett skrivbord på Gaias kontor och kollar in i kameran och ler.

Rebecca is based at the Linköping office but travels to Norrköping once a week. Here she is at our Norrköping office.

Great answers! What’s the best part about programming?

I’ve tried different things, but I’ve mainly worked with back-end development. It’s fun! But what I enjoy the most about programming is solving problems together with others. I like finding solutions and identifying actual user needs, not just creating solutions they think they need.

What do you do when you’re not programming?

I spend a lot of time at flea markets and secondhand stores looking for new finds, especially now that I’ve recently moved. Music quizzes are something else I enjoy, and I have a group of people that I usually go and quiz with!

We’re excited to have Rebecca join us. Are you interested in joining the team? Check out our career page to learn more about the skills we are currently looking for.
